Apply the Opacity modifier to reveal layers that are behind another layer or to de-emphasize a layer.
When applying the Opacity modifier to a layer that has already had its opacity transformed, the modifier multiplies the effect of the underlying opacity transformation.
In this example, a yellow and red Rectangle are overlapping with the Opacity of the yellow Rectangle set to 50%, allowing the occluded portion of the red Rectangle to be visible.
★ Pro Tip
You can quickly experiment with different opacities by selecting a layer in the Layers panel and pressing 1-9 on your keyboard.
